Despite the message we are constantly surrounded by today, life is not made solely of constant growth and major revolutions. Sometimes our world seems to stop moving forward, and we experience discomfort, frustration, anxiety, panic when we begin to look at the pace of everything happening around us. But these periods of being in a “cocoon” are just as necessary — something is happening there, something is maturing, and something is simply resting. It is worth finding patience within ourselves during these moments — for many, the hardest kind: patience with ourselves. How much courage it takes to trust that we have already set our lives in the right direction, and that we can sometimes let things happen through their own inertia!

Funny how, as it turned out, the artistic process behind this painting followed the same path.
For a long time, true to its title, Inertia felt unfinished, occupying my easel without a single change, not ready to fully reveal itself to the world, suspended. Until one day I took it off the easel and hung it on the wall. It received a new light, and that seemed to complete the process... I realised that it had been ready for a long time.
